5 Family-Friendly Activities for Father’s Day 2021 👨‍👧‍👦

Father’s Day 2021 promises to be part of a great summer.

With more events announced daily, there are already several promising and unique experiences that families will absolutely love. Listed below are just a few of the events on Long Island that emphasize family togetherness and new adventures; stay tuned for more coming soon.

1. Fathers Day Festival at Harbes Farm, Mattituck: Mattituck’s Harbes Family Farm is hosting a Father’s Day Festival throughout Father’s Day weekend. This annual event begins on June 19 and goes through Sunday, June 20. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

At Harbes Family Farm, fathers and families will find plenty to do. Dads will have free admission to Harbes Barnyard Adventure, including a hayride tour, pig races, and a variety of farm animals to observe. Free live music in their picnic area will also be provided.

2. 2021 Fathers Day Car Show, Seaford: The Father’s Day Car Show has returned for 2021, to be held at a new location, the Seaford Train Station. The money raised at this non-judged event will benefit the Nassau County Sheriff's COBA Widow’s & Children’s Fund.

This event is for all the motorhead fathers out there who want to take in the show, bring in their own car for display, or simply have a great time with family and friends. Prices vary for admission. Spectators can enter for free, though donations are appreciated. Those who wish to enter their cars can pre-register for $15, or show up the day of for $20. A First Responder Touch-A-Truck will be present to allow spectators of all ages to explore the emergency vehicle.

3. Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium, Cold Spring Harbor: To celebrate Father’s Day, Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium will be allowing fathers free admission when accompanied by their children. This celebration allows fathers a free pathway into nature while taking in the hatchery’s displays and the natural grounds outside.

The Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, with plenty of activities for families and groups to enjoy. They are a non-profit educational center that houses a wide range of New York State animals. There is even fishing allowed by reservation, allowing fathers and families to participate in the great outdoors.

4. AR Workshop’s Father’s Day Story Time and Mini-Project, Bellmore: AR Workshop is a national franchise with over 150 locations. Their Bellmore location, which has been within the community for five years, will be hosting an event for fathers and young children, allowing them to create their own “A Gift for Dad” bags.

This limited-seat class costs $15. The class will be held before Father’s Day on June 14. It will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

5. Father’s Day Weekend Art and Artisan Fair, Southampton: The Southampton History Museum will be hosting an Art and Artisan Fair during Father’s Day weekend, inviting history-lovers, craft-lovers, and families who wish to explore the fair for a free day spent among community artists.

The event will be held at Rogers Mansion in downtown Southampton, showcasing artists and artisans selling their work. For those who love antiquing, the event will also involve their Carriage House Shop of antiques. The event will be held from June 19 to June 20, starting at 10 a.m. on both days, and ending at 5 p.m. on Saturday, and 4 p.m. on Sunday.
