Babylon Village Farmers Market Readies for Summer Season

Babylon Village Farmers Market opened earlier than usual on May 3, 2021.

This opening was a welcome sight for the community, bringing fresh produce and more to the village. While the trials of the pandemic have been rough across Long Island, local farmers’ markets emphasize the importance of shopping and eating locally.

For the past month the vendors, some well-established locally and others new, have made their way to Babylon Village Farmers Market at Babylon’s LIRR Station. Starting on June 6 according to an announcement from Babylon Village Farmers Market, new farms will be joining them, adding more local products to an already bustling market.

It is important to note that Babylon Village Farmers Market complies with social distancing guidelines from the CDC. With mask restrictions being lifted for vaccinated individuals, it will be possible to partake in the market without a mask so long as an individual is vaccinated. In their message, the Babylon Village Farmers Market had this to say: “We want to thank you all for wearing masks and helping keep your farmers’ market safe for everyone.”

Babylon Village Farmers Market is open every Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and will be continuing until November. The market can be found at 51 Railroad Ave. in the LIRR Parking Lot. Keep updated on their Facebook.
