1.Oak Beach-Captree: Oak Beach is a small beach community located at the east end of Jones Beach Island and is part of the town of Babylon in Suffolk County. Oak beach is a beautiful oasis with various secluded areas to pull your car up and view the sunset. Come take in the beautiful summer sunsets at Oak Beach by driving down the Ocean Parkway. 2. Captree State Park: Captree State Park is located in the town of Babylon and Islip in Suffolk County, and has the perfect secluded area to watch the sunset. The park is located at the eastern end of Jones Beach Island at 3500 E. Ocean Parkway in Bay Shore. It overlooks sections of Fire Island inlets and also displays beautiful views of the Great South Bay Bridge. It is the perfect spot to bring food, sit at a picnic table, and enjoy the beautiful sunset overlooking the water. 3. Sea Cliff Beach: Sea Cliff Beach, located at 56 The Blvd. in Sea Cliff, is a great hidden area to see the sun setting on the Long Island Sound. During hours of operation, which are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week, only residents are allowed to enter due to Covid regulations. 4. Pirates Cove: Pirates Cove is located at Harbor Hills Drive in Port Jefferson and is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. This beautiful spot includes dunes, ocean, and calm cove all in one. Pirates Cove is a part of McAllister County Park and on the top of the dunes, you will find views of the Long Island sound on one side, and the Port Jefferson Harbor on the other. Go during sunset hours for the perfect views of such a beautiful area. Parking is limited as this gem has become a must see spot with an incredible landscape. 5. Cedar Beach Marina: Cedar Marina, known for being a great camping and boat docking spot, is also the perfect place to see great sunset views. This marina is located on the bay side of Cedar Beach and is accessible by walking through the pathway underpass from the beach side. Take a walk down the long fishing pier at the marina to see the best views on the bay. You can drive down Ocean Parkway to find this marina and see the pier views for yourself. 6. Fire Island Lighthouse: The Fire island Lighthouse is a famous landmark on the Great South Bay that displays a beautiful view when the sun is setting. On the western end of Fire Island, this landmark is located at field 5 of Robert Moses State Park. Walk the trails around the lighthouse leading to the beach and take some scenic photos of this historical area.
